tomorrow is summer!
A few days ago I decided that I had had enough of this years Christmas, and it was time to take down the decorations. I couldn't even wait until the next day, I had to start taking them all down that night. (Hey, when you have to drive to and from Michigan with "sick buckets", and have a whole month of December over run by stomach flu and strep throat, then you can judge me for wanting Christmas to be over.)
So as we are "un-trimming"" the tree, Kailey (who is 4), starts to get excited and say:
"Yay! Tomorrow is summer!"
uh oh.
How do I break her heart? She was really excited about summer.
We used a calendar to try and show her how it was still winter for a couple more months, and then she was just plain mad at us.
"You can't take down the Christmas stuff if it isn't summer yet!"
oh boy.
Thankfully she has now come to terms with the fact that, in Iowa, winter lasts longer then the other seasons.
And to cure my summer itch I'm distracting myself by pinning Valentine's Day decorations.
