"After a Couple Whiles"

Happy 5 month birthday to this little cutie!  Josiah is busy rolling from front to back, grabbing everything and then putting it in his mouth, soaking shirts with drool, and trying to figure out how to move around the room!

We celebrated by spending most of today iced in.  There was a lot of time for rolling on the floor, loads of laundry {that still need to be folded}, Barbies, and some homework.  When it was time for Kailey's nap she informed me that she would be ready for her nap after "playing for a couple whiles".  She says this cute little phrase whenever I ask her to do something.  {Odd how sometimes its cuteness wears off when used in that context.}

Eva spent some of today's rare quiet moments working on her schoolwork.  We are so proud of how much she has learned this year, thanks to some wonderful teachers.  Today at supper I heard from her: "Really, really, really?"  And then, "I love it when things are in threes!"  I'm thinking this must explain why I have to repeat directions three times before she hears them.

You can see that not even the animals enjoyed the weather today.  Chloe was found in her favorite spot all afternoon long. Yes, this is a dining room chair.  I apologize to anyone who eats at my home and ends up with a seat covered in dog hair.

And the poor cats had to eat from styrofoam bowls outside of the door.  There was no way I was going to try and open the iced over metal barn door to feed them!

Kailey helped me prepare a spinach and chicken salad for supper tonight.  She loves to help in the kitchen because right now she is certain that one day she will be a chef and open her own restaurant.  While eating her salad tonight she informed me that, "When I'm a chef I'm going to make this salad at my restaurant with white and chocolate milk!"  I'm hoping the milk is to drink, and not in the salad.  :)

I hope you were able to enjoy spending your Sunday with those you love, as well as remember our Lord and all He has given us.

Those of you covered in ice stay safe tonight!

Becky
