We started off our Easter weekend with a trip to a Maple Syrup Festival that was only a few miles away from home! Sadly I never new this place existed until this past week. We were able to see how they prepare the syrup, eat a nice stack of pancakes, and take a lot of syrup home. We also discovered our new favorite treat: vanilla ice cream with maple syrup! A-MAZ-ING!
Later that night we dyed Easter eggs. This is the first time we've done this as a family. I'll have to make sure this is a tradition we continue.
Sunday morning my girls were very excited to try on their Easter clothes and find their baskets.
{I can't believe my oldest looks that grown up.}
They had lots of fun searching for treasures in their baskets. Josiah got a nice large puppy that will most likely be his {forever} toy.
We were blessed to spend the afternoon with family, and the girls enjoyed playing with their cousins.
Not a word was heard
At the tomb that day.
Just shuffling of soldiers feet
As they guarded the grave.
One day, two days,
Three days had past.
Could it be that Jesus
Breathed His last?
Could it be that His Father
Had forsaken him?
Turned his back on his son
Despising our sin.
All Hell seemed to whisper
"Just forget Him, He's dead."
Then the Father looked down
to His Son and He said.
Arise, My Love.
Arise, My Love.
The grave no longer
Has a hold on You.
No more death's sting.
No more suffering.
Arise, arise, arise My Love.
