social media hatred

I just have to ask and see if anyone feels the same way.  Is anyone else sick of the way
social media is used to show so much hatred to others?

We love to check our social media.
Love to see that others "care" for us by liking or following us.

When there is real tragedy there are some wonderful supporters.

But there some people who claim to follow the Lord but they are only
full of hateful words.

I say this hesitantly because my own mouth often gets me into trouble and I say things
to others that I regret.  But when others are in a time of
mourning along come people who claim to be in the body of Christ,
and they can make comments that are simply cruel.  It is the work of the Devil.
He would love to see us tear each other down until there is no one left to stand together
and make up the body of Christ.

I was so saddened to hear of the death of Rick Warren's son.  What a terrible loss.

I am astonished that there are people full of enough hatred to rip their wounds open wider.

What is wrong with us?  I read a blog post by Beth Moore this morning.  She made
a good point by reminding that if we dwell on hatred for the haters then we become a hater too.
So I will make it my goal to not feel hatred towards those who so easily type their
cruel words.  But I am going to ask you to remember that what you put on social media is there
forever.  I am going to make it my personal goal to only use social media in a way that is
encouraging and supporting of others.  May there be more people in the
body of Christ who can support Rick Warren's family, then there are people to
tear them apart.  I am praying that the Devil will not win this one.  How good to
know that we have a God who has already won the war!

May you not take for granted those who are close to you today.
Sin makes this world, that was to designed to be perfect,
a cruel and ugly place.
May you be the one who shines the truth of the Lord today.
